A small independent company founded in October 2000, in order to publish a contentious niche children's book topic that others rejected. That topic was CANCER! The company helped pioneer cancer resources for children, and author/founder Amelia Frahm became the first cancer survivor to write and implement a cancer awareness program for elementary students based on her children's book "Tickles Tabitha's Cancer-tankerous Mommy," which introduced the Tickles Tabitha character. In 2010 Nutcracker Publishing introduced another contentious and controversial children’s book topic, and school program: "Nuclear Power: How a Nuclear Power Plant Really Works!", an educational and entertaining look at the inner workings of a nuclear power plant.
